| Description: | This project is a response to the energy efficient retrofit movement about to storm the middle class American housing stock. Driven by the clients’ commitment to minimize energy consumption yet constricted by a budget, the building took on the simplest and most efficient form: a box. After deconstructing the existing building, the foundation will be reused. A new home utilizing sustainable building practice, renewable technology and salvaged kitchen and bath furnishings will be constructed for $100 per square foot. |
