| Description: |
The program for Villa Seba Ritchie called for an Indonesian vernacular style. After multiple iterations, we moved forward with a form that cradled a large central courtyard. True to historical Balinese plans, the heart and magic of Villa Seba will be the centralized courtyard. This central courtyard is the focus and life of Villa Seba. From this courtyard the 14 M entrance and rear entrance can be opened completely to allow for the off shore breezes and sub-tropical forest to venture in. Or Close the custom made 14 M Indonesian carved door panels to close the building entirely for a more intimate experience. The material Palette is simple and direct, reflecting the vernacular: Stone, stucco, and hardwood exterior and interior. The interior space will contain custom carvings and stone from Indonesia. |
